Zoom Safeguarding Recomendations
When using Zoom or another online meeting forum to hold CE meetings with children, there are a few essential things to consider.
- There should be a minimum of 2 adults on each Zoom group, both cleared through Access NI.
- Parental permission should be requested before a child is added to the group, and the link for the Zoom meeting given to parents.
- Breakout rooms should NOT be used with children.
- Avoid bedrooms and avoid appearing in pyjamas.
- With teenagers, parental permission should also be sought, and with their permission the link can be shared directly with the Young People.
- Even with Young People, avoid the use of Breakout rooms as this increases the need for extra leaders.
