CE Convention 2024 | JESUS IS KING
The 109th Irish National Christian Endeavour Convention will be held on Saturday 21st September 2024 at 7.30pm, in Lisbellaw Methodist Church.
This will be the first time for Lisbellaw to host an Irish CE Union Convention while the first Irish CE Convention was held 130 years ago in Belfast.
The Revd John Beacom is looking forward to speaking on the theme, “Jesus is King”.
John, who was born in Enniskillen, is the second youngest in a family of four and has been married to Elaine for 37 years. They have four grown-up children and thirteen grandchildren.
Educated at Lisbellaw Primary School and Enniskillen High, he was initially employed on a local farm later gaining employment in a Timber Mill where he was involved in management for almost 30 years.
John’s hobbies include reading, playing the bagpipes and spending time with family. Recently he has used his literary gift to good avail and has published his first book entitled, “Moments with The Master”. It is a book of 365 one minute devotions for the busy Christian and has been a major success with all proceeds going to the social ministry project being developed in Ballinamallard.
John did not have any Church background and was an atheist until his early twenties. He began to attend Church when he married Elaine who came from a strong Methodist background.
He became involved with a cult before coming to realise the truth and then came to a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He became a Local Preacher in his local Church but rejected the Call to ordained ministry for three years as it was the last vocation that he wanted to do.
John said, “Since submitting to the will of God my Father, I have been blessed abundantly and will serve Him with all my heart”.
He is currently Superintendent of both the Ballinamallard and Trillick and the Pettigo and Irvinestown Methodist Circuits.
