CE Convention 2026 | Joy in Jesus
The 111th Irish National Christian Endeavour Convention will be held on Saturday19th September 2026, at 7.30 pm, in Second Broughshane Presbyterian Church hall,when the Church’s minister, The Revd Jeffrey Blue will speak on the theme, “Joy in Jesus”.
Jeffrey grew up just outside Kilkeel in County Down as the fourth of five children, ina loving Christian home. From an early age, he came to faith, and his walk with theLord was shaped in no small way by the faithful preaching and teaching of hishome congregation, Mourne Presbyterian Church. He is thankful for the ministry ofthe Revd Dr. McGaughey and later the Revd William Bingham, under whoseteaching he sat for many formative years.
His journey into ministry unfolded gradually over time. After leaving Kilkeel HighSchool, he studied Geography at Queen’s University Belfast before spending severalyears working in management and administrative roles, first with Asda and later ina local garage business. Throughout this period, he became increasingly involved inChurch life, particularly through helping with CEF clubs and summer missionteams, experiences that played a significant part in shaping his sense of calling.
As that call to ordained ministry grew clearer, he applied for the ministry and spenta year at Cornhill under the guidance of the Revd Moore Casement. In 2014, heentered Union Theological College in Belfast to undertake formal training forordained ministry.
Following his studies, he served an assistantship at Bloomfield Presbyterian Churchin East Belfast under the supervision of the Revd Dr Frank Sellar, an experience forwhich he remains very grateful.Before coming to Broughshane, he was minister of Rasharkin Presbyterian Church,where he was ordained and installed in December 2016.
It was during his time inRasharkin that he met his wife Julie, who is originally from Buckna. Julie was leaderof the Junior Christian Endeavour in her home congregation of BucknaPresbyterian.Jeffrey has spoken of how he is looking forward to being with everyone andspeaking at the annual Irish CE Convention in September.
